Wonderful place in Thailand : Pai

Pai is a small town in Mae Hong Son Province, Northern Thailand. It is part of the Mae Hong Son Loop, which is route 1095 from Chiang Mai to Mae Hong Son. The city is named after the Pai river.

Pai is a predominantly tourism-oriented town, offering a relaxed atmosphere with a broad traveller and backpacker scene. In early 2006 a sudden boom in guesthouse and bar construction has resulted in a great deal of spare capacity — capacity that is partially taken up by an increase in Thai people visiting after Pai was featured in a romantic Thai film. There are now around 200 guesthouses and hotels in Pai, and the city center has transformed into containing western style restaurants, souvenir shops, and bars that cater largely to the now significant influx of tourists and package tours.

Interest at Pai is Rent a bicycle or motorbike and visit one of the nearby waterfalls and hill-tribe villages. Pai is also a major starting point for organized trekking tours which are offered by every guesthouse and travel agent.

Whitewater rafting trips abound and there are numerous elephant camps. Additionally there are several hot springs in the area.

Waterfalls

Mae Yen - 7 kilometers out of town with no bikes allowed for the last 6km of that. Head East over the bridge heading out of Pai and follow the signs.
Pam Bok - on the road to Chiang Mai before Pai Canyon. Nice secluded waterfall with high cliffs surrounding it, making this a very cool place to escape the heat. Go for a relaxing bathe in the shade during the dry season.
Mo Paeng - West of the city past Santichon (Chinese refugee Village). The upper section of this waterfall is a natural water slide during the dry season. The rocks are smooth, just find a small section and slide on down like the locals do!

Hot Springs
The Tha Pai hot springs are about a 20 minute motorbike ride, after the Pai Canyon on the road to Chiang Mai. There's a 200B/person entrance fee to the national park. There's a free hot spring outside the park gate, but it's 80°C and, for obvious reasons, you aren't allowed to touch it.

Wonderful place in Thailand : Koh Phi Phi

Ko Phi Phi is a small archipelago in Krabi Province, Southern Thailand. The named islands are:

Ko Phi Phi Don, the largest and only populated island.
Ko Phi Phi Leh (also known as Ko Phi Phi Lai), a smaller island to the south, popularised when parts of the movie "The Beach" were filmed there. Uninhabited apart from bird nest harvesters and a few Maya Bay wardens; expect plenty of tourists during daylight hours, especially in Maya Bay, the beach of the eponymous movie.
Ko Phai ('Bamboo Island'), a small low-lying islet to the north of Phi Phi Don with several good beaches.
Ko Yung (Yung Island) is north of Ko Phi Phi Don. The island has a stone beach in the east and small sandy beaches at the foot of the hills. It is teeming with various kinds of colourful coral reefs.
Bida Nok and Bida Nai, two small adjacent limestone karsts to the south of Phi Phi Leh, with near-vertical cliff walls rising from the sea.

Although rapidly becoming less and less attractive due to the masses of tourists as well as the construction on the island, it's still a very beautiful place to visit, and is one of those places everybody should go at least once in their lifetime. Although the beaches are not the best in Thailand, the place has a good vibe and nightlife and there are 18 dive shops to choose from.

Places Of Interest

When it comes to sightseeing around "The Twins", you can look at sand, sea and more sand. Yes Sir, Phi Phi Island is a place to relax your time away either rock climbing - looking down on the beach, scuba diving - looking up at the beach, or sun bathing, actually on 'THE' beach!

Ao Maya - "The Beach"
Koh Phi Phi is home of "The Beach", that rather crap movie starring Leonardo Di Cappucino! Although Ao Maya is Phi Phi's best stretch of the golden stuff, other beaches are also pretty good. Tonsai, Lanah Bay to name just a couple are as good as any beach in the south.

Khao Tapoo - "James Bond Island"
Still on the subject of movies, a certain 007 film was made in these parts. "The Man With The Golden Gun", starring Roger Moore & Christopher Lee, has it's final scene at Khao Tapoo. Remember when the top of the famous rock opens up? Well, here it is!

Wonderful place in Thailand : Ayutthaya

Full name Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya. Ayutthaya is without question the best place to experience real ancient Thai culture and history. During it's time as the nations capital, more than thirty different dynasties had rule over The Kingdom of Siam.

Ayutthaya is an island at the confluence of three rivers: the Chao Phraya river, the Lopburi river and the Pa Sak river. As the train station is at the east side off the island, most visitors will need to cross the river by ferry boat. Navigating your way around the island is not particularly hard: U Thong Rd is a ring road that circumvents the island completely. Most temple ruins can be found at the north-west of the island, while accommodation and nightlife is clustered around the north-east. As non-Siamese peoples were not allowed to live inside the city walls, the sights from foreign nations can be found outside of the island.

Ayutthaya is 76 kilometers north of Bangkok and boasts numerous magnificent ruins. The ruins indicate that Ayutthaya was one of Southeast Asia's (and probably the world's) most prosperous cities in the 17th Century and beyond. Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Historical Park, a vast stretch of historical site in the heart of Ayutthaya city, has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since December 13, 1991.

There were three palaces in Ayutthaya: Grand Palace, Chantharakasem Palace (the Front Palace) and Wang Lang (the Rear Palace). In addition, there were many other palaces and buildings for royal visits located outside Ayutthaya, such as the palace at Bang Pa-In and Nakhon Luang Building at Nakhon Luang.
